What this is
Welcome to Hangout FC. These terms set out the legally binding agreement between you and Hangout FC when you create an account, subscribe to a membership, read our content feeds, use our AI creator tools, or distribute member-created work.
They are written in plain English so members can understand their rights and obligations. If anything is unclear, please use our public contact form.

Your account
To use Hangout FC, you must agree to these terms and follow the rules below.
You must be at least 16 to register for or use Hangout FC. Registration is limited to one account per person. Sharing accounts or transferring access is not allowed.
Sign-in is passwordless. Enter your email address and we send a 6-digit verification code to your inbox. The code stays valid for about an hour. Anyone with access to your inbox can sign in as you, so keep it secure.
You are responsible for everything that happens through your account. If you suspect unauthorised access, use our public contact form.
Subscriptions & billing
Hangout FC is a paid subscription service designed to fund high-quality journalism without relying on ad networks or selling consumer attention.
Base membership plans
- Terrace (£4.99/mo) — read-only access to our daily news feeds (football, NFL, NBA, and F1), including Live Wire, Pulse, Reports, and Stories (when public community reading is active). Includes localised audio narration where available. No AI generation, chat, or monitoring tools.
- Press Pass (£19/mo) — everything in Terrace, plus a monthly allowance of Plays for The Booth, Dossiers, and Press Box. Unused monthly Plays reset at the start of each billing cycle and do not roll over.
- Press Pass Plus (£49/mo) — the same creator tools as Press Pass, with a larger monthly Play allowance for heavy use.
Current plan details and Play allowances are on our pricing page.
Signals add-ons
Automated topic tracking runs separately through the Signals add-on ecosystem. Signals do not spend your monthly Plays. They require an active creator plan (Press Pass or Press Pass Plus) and bill on their own monthly schedule:
- Signals (£29/mo) — 2 active private tracking slots; automated open-web and data-desk monitoring sweeps every 6 hours.
- Signals Fast (£59/mo) — 2 active private tracking slots; high-frequency sweeps every 2 hours.
See our pricing page for add-on detail.
Extra Time top-ups
If you use up your monthly included Plays mid-cycle, you can buy top-up packs from your account dashboard:
- Extra Time — 25 Plays pack: £5
- Extra Time — 100 Plays pack: £20
We spend your monthly included Plays first, then top-up balances. Top-up Plays stay valid for 6 months from purchase. You can only buy or spend top-up Plays while you have an active creator membership.
Proration, upgrades, downgrades, and cancellation
All billing, invoicing, tax collection, and customer portal transactions are processed through our merchant of record, Paddle.
Upgrades to a higher tier take effect immediately. Upgrading does not reset your monthly billing cycle; Paddle bills the prorated difference straight away.
Downgrades to Terrace also take effect immediately. Creator access and your monthly Play allowance stop right away. Any unused Extra Time top-up Plays are frozen until you return to Press Pass or Press Pass Plus before their original 6-month expiry. Paddle applies any downgrade credit to your next billing statement.
Cancellation schedules termination for the end of your current paid billing period. You keep access until that period ends, and future renewals stop.
All subscription charges, add-on fees, and top-up payments are final unless the law requires otherwise. We do not offer voluntary refunds or partial credits for unused days in a billing period. At checkout, you confirm that access starts immediately. In the UK, EU, EEA, Switzerland, and similar regions, that may affect statutory cooling-off or withdrawal rights for digital services you have already used. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights. See our cancellation and refund policy.
Plays & AI tools
AI tools inside Hangout FC process search terms, factual inputs, context libraries, and workflow states to deliver source-backed outputs. Standard Play costs:
- The Booth — 1 Play per successfully delivered answer (one question, one answer from our indexes or the open web). Cancelled, blocked, or failed turns do not deduct Plays.
- Dossiers — 4 Plays per in-depth research brief.
- Press Box — 5 Plays per Creator Package (written article, cover image, and short audio). Sending from an active Dossier or from a Signal to Press Box costs another 5 Plays per send.
Reading Live Wire, Pulse, Reports, and Stories does not spend Plays.
Monthly included Plays reset each billing period. Extra Time top-up Plays expire 6 months after purchase, are spent after monthly Plays, and can only be bought or spent while you have creator access. If you downgrade to Terrace, cancel, become past due, or otherwise lose creator access, unused Extra Time may be frozen until creator access returns.
Signals monitoring does not spend Plays — slot limits and refresh cadence are on our pricing page. Sending a Signal drop to Press Box uses 5 Plays per send (always from the latest update).
How you can use the app
You are expected to act with integrity and respect publishers, athletes, leagues, and fellow creators. The following are strictly prohibited:
- System abuse — circumventing paywalls, bypassing account blocks, gaming rate limits, or exceeding Play and Signal limits.
- Extraction — scraping, bulk crawling, data harvesting, mirroring, reverse-engineering, or probing the app to extract source code, system prompts, model weights, or API structures.
- Content violations— presenting unsubstantiated rumours as verified fact, publishing defamatory claims about identifiable people, or broadcasting private personal data or invasive claims about someone's private life.
- Harmful material — using AI tools to spam, harass, impersonate, break the law, or process prompts involving minors in any sensitive or exploitative context.
- Safety bypasses — prompt injections, jailbreaks, or hidden inputs designed to make our AI disregard safety frameworks or sourcing rules.
More detail in our acceptable use policy.
Content you create
As between you and us, we do not claim ownership of the prompts, briefs, drafts, or final articles you generate through your account. You grant Hangout FC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, process, display, moderate, support, and troubleshoot your content inside the platform.
Most generated items stay private to your workspace. If you export or distribute Press Box output, you may use the generated text, social, and newsletter distribution assets on commercial outlets — including paid newsletters and monetised channels — so long as you have the rights to publish the material and you follow these terms, platform guidelines, and any embedded source publisher requirements.
You are responsible for the content you create and publish. We may remove, restrict, or refuse to distribute anything that breaks these terms, our acceptable use policy, platform rules, or applicable law.
What the AI can and can't do
We run a source-first environment. When we use data-desk or open-web records, we attach checkable links in the active view. We prefer silence over filler — if no credible update has landed in a news slot, that section stays quiet.
Pulse confidence labels
Daily reporting items in Pulse carry one of three front-facing labels:
- Official — directly verified or confirmed by the club, league body, or recognised official channel.
- Reported — attributed to verified, trusted sports journalists.
- Rumour — unconfirmed or speculative claims, explicitly hedged in the text.
AI limitations and refusals
We work hard to limit hallucinations and historical distortions, but no AI system is flawless. AI outputs are for general information, research assistance, and writing support — not professional medical, legal, employment, financial, or betting and gambling advice. Verify important facts before publishing or acting on them.
When a query crosses safety boundaries, involves unbacked personal topics, or falls outside available context, the system should return an explicit refusal explaining the boundary — not a silent or empty reply.
Editorial history & privacy
We do not quietly delete past Pulse items as a story develops. Outdated posts stay accessible at their original links, and newer updates link forward to keep an honest public record. Signals keeps a persistent timeline of alert drops instead of overwriting past monitoring updates.
We do not lease, trade, or sell member profiles, contact lists, or usage metrics to advertising brokers, and we do not run tracking pixels in the app. Where provider terms and settings allow, we configure third-party AI providers not to train their general models on your private account content.
Full detail on what we collect, who processes it, retention, and your rights is in our privacy policy.
Our content & rights
The software, interface designs, logos, datasets, source packages, brand markers, and official newsstreams that make up Hangout FC are owned by or licensed to Hangout Cloud Solutions Limited. You may share short extracts with a direct link, but you may not reproduce materials wholesale, build competing portals, scrape datasets, or use our output to train external large language models.
Enforcement & ending the agreement
You can stop using Hangout FC and cancel your subscription at any time. We evaluate reported violations based on context, severity, and security risk. Enforcement may include:
- A written warning by email for a low-severity or first-time infraction.
- Hiding, deleting, restricting, de-indexing, or refusing to distribute content that breaks our policies.
- Revoking feature access, pausing your subscription, or permanently closing your account for repeated violations, serious safety issues, payment fraud, or illegal behaviour.
Accounts terminated or suspended for policy breaches forfeit remaining subscription time and are not eligible for voluntary refunds, except where required by law.
If you believe an enforcement action was wrong, use our public contact form and choose "Legal or copyright".
Liability
We work to keep Hangout FC available and accurately sourced, but the platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We cannot guarantee permanent uptime, error-free operation, or complete accuracy across historical iterations.
Nothing in these terms diminishes your statutory rights as a consumer. To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claims over a consecutive 3-month period is capped at the amount you paid to Hangout FC in those same 3 months.
We do not exclude or limit liability where the law does not allow it, including liability for fraud, gross negligence, personal injury caused by our negligence, or your non-excludable consumer rights.
Law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Gibraltar. Formal legal proceedings relating to this agreement must be brought in the courts of Gibraltar, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect platform changes, regulatory requirements, or structural shifts. If a change materially affects your membership rights, we will email you and show a prominent notice in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect.
Continued use of Hangout FC after that notice period means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree, cancel your membership before the effective date. We do not offer voluntary refunds for cancellations due to term disagreements, except where required by law.
