At a glance
Hangout Cloud Solutions Limited (company number 126195) is the data controller for Hangout FC. Our registered office is located at: R23 Ragged Staff Wharf, Queensway Road, Gibraltar GX11 1AA. If you have any questions, please reach out via our public contact form.
- No data selling: We do not sell, lease, or trade your personal data or contact lists to external advertising brokers.
- Optional ads measurement: After you Accept optional cookies, we may measure ads (including conversion events sent to X) and keep campaign labels from a marketing link in a first-party cookie for a short time. Ads events may include a click id, a hashed email, and the network address we see — not a dump of your account. Unset and Reject keep those tools off. Details are in our cookie policy.
- AI model protections: Where third-party provider terms and settings allow, we explicitly configure external AI nodes so your private prompts, content, and drafts are never used to train general base models.
What we collect
To provide, maintain, and secure our sports application, we collect the following information:
Account information
Your email address, optional display name, sign-in, session data, and security information. If you receive a Press Pass trial, we also derive a trial-eligibility record from a canonical form of that email, and a same-place record from the network address we see on that request (see retention below).
Subscription details
Chosen plans, add-ons, and campaign link labels (such as utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, and utm_content) when you register through a marketing link. After you Accept optional cookies, those labels may persist for about thirty minutes in a first-party cookie (hfc-campaign-utm) so they survive while you browse public pages; they are saved once on your profile at first sign-up. That cookie never holds a click id or email. Reject and no choice yet do not set it.
Usage & content activity
What you read, open, ask, create, or save. This includes Booth chats, Dossier prompts/outputs and Press Box drafts/articles, citations, export packages, and related workflow metadata.
Technical logs
Device details (browser, operating system, screen size), approximate location derived from network data, and system error diagnostics. The network address on a Press Pass trial request is used only to limit extra free weeks from the same place, as described under retention.
Local preferences
Stored settings such as theme (light, dark, or system) and your default output language for Press Box and Dossiers. Those tools write in nine languages — English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Polish, and Arabic — with regional variants for English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French. Daily news feeds are English. This stays on your device until you clear it in your browser.
Billing metadata
Our payment processor (Paddle) handles your direct credit card numbers; we never see or store them. We only receive and retain billing metadata (e.g. customer/subscription IDs, transaction IDs, currency, amount, country, renewal dates, and receipt links) for tax records and account management.
How we use your data
Operating the service
To manage your passwordless 6-digit sign-in sessions, show your respective your access tier (Press Pass, Press Pass Plus), and process automated renewals.
Powering AI features
To generate sourced responses, research briefs, monitoring lines, and preserve original source trails.
Improving the product
To analyse feature popularity and debug performance issues. We utilise Vercel Web Analytics on our marketing pages and sign-in funnel, which uses aggregated page views without sending your email or account ID. After you Accept optional cookies, campaign labels may persist briefly in a first-party cookie and be included in marketing funnel events (not your email), and we load an Ahrefs analytics script on public pages and sign-in for aggregated traffic and SEO insights. Ahrefs loads only after Accept; Reject stops new loads.
Affiliate programmes
After you Accept optional cookies, when you arrive via a promoter referral link, FirstPromoter may attribute that visit and, on a new sign-up, receive your email solely to match the referral. Paid memberships may then be attributed through our billing partner (Paddle) integration with FirstPromoter. If you Reject, we do not load FirstPromoter; sign-up still works.
Ads measurement
After you Accept optional cookies, we may send conversion events to X so we can tell whether an ad click led to a new Press Pass trial. Those events may include a click id, a hashed email, and the network address we see on the request. They are not a dump of your account, drafts, or reading history. Unset and Reject do not send those events. If you Accept and later Reject, we stop new optional loads and clear our first-party ads and campaign cookies; we cannot reliably delete third-party cookies already set.
Communication
To deliver functional transactional emails, including security alerts, billing receipts, legal adjustments, and customer support responses.
Security & compliance
To prevent fraud, catch platform abuse, and satisfy legal obligations.
AI and generated content
Our creator tools function by transmitting your prompt, context libraries, and workflow state to processing systems and AI services. This data is utilised to deliver your content, maintain underlying source trails, and troubleshoot issues. You can ask Press Box,and Dossiers to write in nine languages (English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Polish, and Arabic), with regional variants for English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French. Daily news feeds stay English. AI outputs are purely intended for sports information, research, and drafting assistance—they do not represent professional legal, medical, financial, betting, or employment advice.
If you choose to use public links via Stories or Press Box sharing features, please note that anyone with access to that public link will be able to read that content.
Retention & international transfers
Your information is stored using infrastructure networks that may process data across the UK, EU, US, or other regions using lawful contractual safeguards. We retain your account and operational history as long as your profile remains active. Billing records are held for a minimum of 6 years to satisfy regional tax and legal mandates. Account deletions remove your personal profile information, though some historical items may linger temporarily in structured system backups or legal files.
If you receive a Press Pass trial, we keep a trial-eligibility record so the same mailbox cannot claim another trial after you delete your account. That record is a keyed hash (HMAC) of a canonical form of your email — not the raw mailbox — and is not used for marketing. It is separate from your profile and survives account deletion.
We also keep a same-place record so extra trials cannot be farmed from one household in a single day. That record is a keyed hash (HMAC) of the network address we see on the trial request — not the raw address — together with the UTC date and a count. It is not used for marketing, advertising, or profiling. Older days can be dropped. It is not stored on your profile, so deleting your account does not remove that daily count.
An unstarted Ask question is held for about one day, then deleted.
Your rights
Under applicable data protection frameworks, you maintain the following capabilities:
- Request a structured copy of all personal data we hold about you.
- Rectify inaccurate or incomplete details.
- Direct the deletion of your account and related profile markers. Deleting your account removes your profile. The trial-eligibility record described under retention is kept so we can honour the one-trial-per-mailbox rule. The same-place daily count is not part of your profile.
- Object to or restrict specific processing operations (such as product analytics).
- Lodge an escalation with your regional supervisor, such as the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
To exercise these options, navigate to our contact form and choose "Privacy or data rights". We will issue a comprehensive response within 30 days.
Children's privacy
Hangout FC is restricted to individuals who are at least 16 years of age. We do not knowingly gather information from anyone below this threshold.
